In May 2009, the National Express Group announed
its intention sell its
Travel London and
Travel
Surrey subsidiraires to NedRailways, a Dutch
railway operator, for £32m. This included its 66
bus services, of which 36 were TFL routes, and
30 operated on behalf of Surrey County Council
and
Kingston University. On 30th March 2009, the Abellio name and trading style was unveiled,
which coincided with the company's commencement
of recently won TFL service 407. Abellio
operates as "Abellio London" and "Abellio
Surrey".
