First Berkshire & The Thames Valley has its roots in a number of different companies. Previously known as "The Berks Bucks Bus Company" (trading as The Beeline) when owned by the Q-Drive Group, it operated in High Wycombe, Reading, Newbury and the Thames Valley area. The High Wycombe operations passed to the Oxford Bus Company in 1990, and two years later the Reading and Newbury operations passed to Reading Transport. In 1993, Beeline acquired the Slough operations of Luton & District. In 1999, Beeline was sold to the First Group, and it was later renamed to its current name in 2002.
